How to extend the life span of filter bags? Perhaps you can pay attention to these 8 points

As people become more aware of the environment, the rules for different types of emissions are getting stricter. Filter bags are becoming more popular for removing dust. This raises the question of how to make bags last longer in dust collectors. This is mainly about how they are used and the precautions needed.

Filter bags last 4-5 years. Most filters are replaced every two years, except for those used in high temperatures or high sulphur environments. Filter bags wear down gradually. The main causes are grinding force, high temperature and corrosion. Strong grinding forces wear the bag most at the bottom. A bigger system means faster filtration, which can also wear out the bags more quickly.

How to use filter bags and precautions:

1. Before the dust collector is put into operation, the dust filter bag should be pre-coated with dust to form a dust layer on the surface of the dust filter bag in advance, which can achieve the dust layer to wrap and block the oil mist and acid, avoid direct contact between the oil mist and acid and the surface of the dust filter bag, and avoid the occurrence of oil mist blockage, condensation, and bag sticking.

2. Choose a suitable cleaning system, set a reasonable cleaning pressure and cleaning control method, and avoid dust blockage. Don't clean too much, as this will affect the dust filter bag.

3. The waste at the dust collector entrance should be evenly distributed to each dust filter bag to prevent uneven load and cause some dust filter bags to operate overloaded.

4.Reasonably match the diameter of the bag cage and the dust filter bag. For synthetic fiber felt filter material, the inner diameter of the dust filter bag can be 5mm larger than the outer diameter of the bag cage. For example, for a Φ130 dust filter bag, the outer diameter of the bag cage is generally designed to be Φ125. For glass fiber dust filter bag filter material, the difference between the two diameters should be reduced to 2-3mm. When installing, you will feel some friction resistance, instead of being able to put it down easily. Since the shrinkage rate of glass fiber is 0 under an environment below 280℃, the size of the dust filter bag is very stable, while the bag cage expands slightly when heated. During normal operation, the dust filter bag can be tightly attached to the bag cage. When cleaning, the dust is mainly cleaned by bending and vibration, and there will be no collision between the dust filter bag and the bag cage wire, thereby minimizing friction.

5. For longer dust filter bags, the spray airflow must have a diversion device, and the high-pressure airflow should be aimed at the center of the dust filter bag, instead of directly impacting the dust filter bag and damaging it. At the same time, the aperture size at different positions on the injection pipe should be different with the distance from the gas collection bag, and the dust removal filter bag cleaning function at different positions is basically the same.

6. Strictly prevent long-term over-temperature operation. The filter media should be operated at the appropriate operating temperature. Long-term over-temperature operation will affect the life spanof the dust filter bag, so appropriate measures should be taken to control the temperature of the dust collector.

7. Select suitable filter materials according to different working conditions. The selection of filter materials should be based on the temperature, temperature and chemical properties of the gas; the size, weight, shape, abrasiveness of the particles, dust concentration, filtration speed, cleaning method, emission concentration and working system of the bag dust collector. Under normal circumstances, needle felt is used for pulse jet bag dust collectors, and woven fabric is used for chamber back-blowing bag dust collectors or mechanical vibration bag dust collectors.

8. Frequency of use: A higher frequency of use will accelerate the damage of the dust bag, because working 8 hours a day and 24 hours a day will cause different wear and tear on the dust cloth. Frequent use without necessary maintenance will cause problems in the details. Dust bag belt wear and thread cracking are items that need to be checked daily.
